Plastic bottle waste from bottled water

Drink 2 liters/8 glasses

of water every day

Correct, water is essential for life but the 2 liter number is made up. It doesn’t even consider your size, age, activity levels, illnesses etc.

The human body is composed of roughly 60% water, with the majority of this being found inside the cells. Our bodies have a sophisticated mechanism for alerting us when we need to drink water, so as long as you have easy access to drinking water, it is almost impossible to get dangerously dehydrated. Your body will force you to consume liquids, not necessarily water. Coffee, tea, sodas, juices, and fruits and vegetables high in water content all contribute to water consumption.

The bottled water industry is worth $130 Billion, making it very attractive to push a narrative about always needing “pure” water with you. However, many bottled water brands have tested positive for micro plastics despite their purification claims.

A lot of times, when people feel hungry, it’s actually thirst. We highly recommend drinking a glass of water before reaching for snacks, hereby avoiding blood sugar spikes and crashes throughout the day.

What now?

Understandably, at this point you were expecting some type of score or verdict about your current lifestyle. But we are not here to judge, so that is not what's coming. We made this Quiz to gently push you out of your comfort zone. Just a tiny bit. We appreciate that normally, quizzes seek to offer a “I knew this” feeling.

Our goal with the quiz was to present information that is quite far from the normal discourse around nutrition and healthy eating. Simply reading a bunch of text can become quite passive and unengaging. We hope you will forgive this slight deception and we hope that you unlearned some 'undisputed facts' while learning something new. In fact, we wrote 30 quiz questions before we realized that this topic is so important that we should write a book about it to do it justice. We would be honored if you agree and invest your time to read it.
