Limit fat intake by choosing fat-free or light products

“Fat will make you fat” sounds so obvious it has to be true, right? We are told not to put mayo on sandwiches, eat full fat ice-cream, fully loaded nachos, greasy cheesy pizza, creamy mashed potatoes with gravy, and so on.

The problem with these is not the fat but the carbs; the white bread, the sugar, the corn meal nachos, the flour dough and the starchy potatoes respectively.

It is easy to believe that fat will make you fat because a lot of people who eat fatty food are indeed overweight. But even after cutting out the fat, they are still overweight and constantly hungry.

Fat on its own is not a problem for weight gain. Excess carbs however are stored as fat in your body. To avoid that you have to reduce your carb intake drastically.

Low-fat foods that imitate full fat versions are created by adding cheap carbohydrates in the form of flours, sugars, and starches. You will literally get fat by eating low-fat products.
